Tips:
These tips should assist you when playing at Dundee!
Downhill/Uphill Lies:
When faced with a downhill or uphill lie, one of the first things to remember is that the slope will increase or decrease the effect loft of the club.
• Probably the easy for most to remember is to set your shoulder parallel to the incline or decline that you are hitting off. Your swing should follow the slope as if you were playing off of level ground. This is where you have to remember to adjust for club loft.
Side Hill Lies:
When faced with a side hill lie posture and balance become very important.
• If you find the ball below your feet, you will find you have to stand a little closer to the ball and bend forward a little more from your hips. You will also find that you need more knee bend to counter balance yourself so that you do not fall forward down the hill as you swing. Maintain your setup posture height through the swing. This setup also promotes a more upright swing possibly resulting in a fade.
• If you find the ball above your feet, your setup will have you standing a little farther from the ball and taller. Your swing will flatten out some, causing your clubface to point left or right of the target. This will make you hit a draw or pull. Keep this in mind when aligning yourself to your target.
